In 2007, Metrô Rio installed two Barco video walls in their control room. The implementation was a big success so the companies established a new partnership in 2009 for the modernization of three new areas of the traffic control center: Intelligence Room, CFTV System and Ticketing System.
The Metrô Rio has 33 stations, two separate lines and serves nearly half a million passengers per day. After the current expansion this will go up to more than one million. The new video walls will help to monitor the increased number of 24/7 security cameras covering all substations.
