History

Barco Silex, a micro-electronic design house established in 1991, belongs to the Belgian Barco electronic group and has offices in Belgium and France.

Barco Silex offers many years of experience designing complete electronic systems.We have a portfolio of high-end services for ASIC/FPGA/DSP and IP design. Validation of the design is done by exhaustive simulation and board prototyping . We guide your board design into full production, taking into consideration all design rules for DFT and DFP in the fields of:

Additionally our design expertise is made available through a wide portfolio of in-house developed IP cores for ASIC and FPGA. Our strong design IP focus is on high performance memory controllers, encryption and image processing. Our portfolio includes DDR SDRAM controllers, Public Key, AES, DES, JPEG 2000, MPEG-4, H-264 and others.

On top, Barco Silex provides a comprehensive range of proven and highly flexible JPEG 2000 encoder and decoder solutions, including the IP cores, reference designs and acceleration boards.

Methodology

To provide our customers with the most reliable and highest standard designs, we have set up a design methodology, based on a set of stringent rules and recommendations. Thanks to this, we have been selected by the market leaders in the aerospace industry for design projects requiring the DO254 design assurance guideline. DO254 was developed by the avionics industry to establish hardware design guidelines when hardware is deployed in aircraft equipment designs.
