The OHSAS18001 certification is site related.
The site of Barco NV in KORTRIJK - Belgium is scheduled to be certified by the end of 2016.

The ISO14001 EMS certification is not company related but is site related.

The Barco sites in China, India and Italy are ISO14001 certified . Their certificate numbers are : CN09/10406 for Beijing, EMS-1949/S for Noida and 9191-FIMI for Italy.

The site of Barco NV in KORTRIJK - Belgium is scheduled to be certified by the end of 2016.

The recyclability of the Barco products depends largely on the processes used by the recyclers.
In Europe almost 80% of the WEEE can be recycled.

Barco production process generates small quantities of toxic waste such as Batteries and Mercury lamps. These are collected in a selective manner at the production plants and treated in an environmentally sound way by our certified external recycling partners .

Last year Barco NV produced 1.113,568 Tons of waste/2012 for the sites in Belgium.

In 2012 , 80% of all waste from the production sites in Belgium was recycled, only 20% was burned at the recycling plant – with energy recuperation .

0 %, No waste goes to landfill

Last year about 1,177 Tons of Hazardous waste /2012 was produced in Belgium

The same, we do not use other sources of water yet.

Engery consumption

What is the total consumption of energy by Barco NV annually ?

0,165 PJ consumption of primary energy ( = natural gas and electricity ) for the Belgian sites

Do we have any plans / initiatives to reduce energy consumption or to increase efficiency of energy usage? Please give details.

YES, we are working on an energy plan to reduce the overall energy consumption in Belgium. First we will improve the awareness of the employees preventing waste of energy at one hand. At the other hand we plan to reduce our footprint form 75.000 m² to only 55.000 m² of floors. Replace old buildings by new buildings which are better designed from an insulation point of view ( E-level = 50 ) and with new equipment for Building Management Systems,lighting, heating , cooling and ventilation which will require less energy /m².

YES, Trough dual sourcing Barco NV tries to minimize the risk from being cut off from the required resources.

YES , We have an Environmental Compliance Officer who takes care of REACH and RoHS.

How can I know if Barco products comply with international environmental standards such as RoHS and REACH?

• All Barco products comply with the RoHS Directive 2011/65/EU on the Restriction of the use of certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment and with the REACH Directive EU 2006/1907 on the Registration, Evaluation, Authorization of Chemical substances.
• Exceptions: some products developed for aerospace and defense applications might not be compliant with the RoHS Directive 2011/65/EU on the Restriction of the use of certain Hazardous Substances in electrical and electronic equipment.
