In March, Barco and projectiondesign invited their global partners to Malta for the International Partner Meeting. Since its inception in 1981, the autonomous Regional Cancer Center (RCC) in Trivandrum, India, has been providing quality care for cancer patients in the Kerala region. To upgrade its diagnostic capabilities and patient care, the center recently made the switch from an analogue to a digital, PACS-supported reporting system. The Imaging and radiology department, you see, was in need of a visualization system that could provide high-quality images for different modalities, including CT, MRI, mammography and angiography. Barco’s medical display systems offer a flexible, easy-to-use and cost-effective solution.

The two semi-live shows went perfectly, the 20 finalists have been chosen and all 39 contestants are counting down to their big day: the Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC), the world’s largest music competition. Tomorrow at 21:00 CET sharp, millions of people across Europe – and beyond - will be ready to watch the 39 participating countries compete in Malmo, Sweden. If you’ve watched the semi-finals, you’ll surely agree: the stage set is simply mind-blowing. And it’s all powered by Barco projectors.

On May 7th 2013, healthcare professionals from all over Europe assembled in Stuttgart, Germany for Clinical Communication Day, held in Klinikum Stuttgart’s new service center. Barco and long-time partner xevIT Networks addressed the topic of emerging trends and technologies in clinical communications. A number of key topics were covered, ranging from modern hospital public relations to the way video communication technology, digital signage and Interactive Patient Care Solutions at the bedside are raising the quality and productivity in one of Germany’s largest hospitals.

Barco proudly unveils its new demo center today before an array of special guests who will experience the full array of simulation and training solutons at the grand opening in Xenia, Ohio. The event provides the ideal stage for Barco and projectiondesign who recently joined forces to create the most comprehensive portfolio of high-fidelity simulation projectors, visual display systems, and proprietary software solutions.

From 2 to 5 May last, Barco exhibited at the largest radiology congress in Latin America, the 43rd JPR Meeting in São Paulo, Brazil. Barco presented its latest diagnostic displays with medical-grade LED backlights, such as the market-leading 30” Coronis Fusion 6MP display system, which attracted a record level of attention and positive reactions from eminent hospitals and clinics.

Barco’s single-click presentation and collaboration system, ClickShare, took top honors at the 2013 Edison Awards, which honors innovators for excellence in product development. Dave Fitzgerald, Channel Director NA, accepted the award at the annual Awards Ceremony & Gala Dinner in Chicago, Illinois while also presenting ClickShare to hundreds of executives attending the Innovators’ Showcase.

Europe is currently counting down to one of the most watched non-sporting TV events of the year – the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC). Within exactly one week, 39 countries will start competing to win the 58th edition in Malmö, Sweden. And Barco may well be just as excited as the singers are: no fewer than 60 Barco projectors, including 28 high-brightness HDQ-2K40 projectors, will be used to create an astonishing stage.
