EDF uses large-scale simulation to plan the future of energy

The EDF group is a leading energy player, active in all major electricity businesses in Europe. Working closely with industrial groups, laboratories and scientific teams, EDF R&D has recently proven that high-performance simulation provides extremely valuable support to scientific research.

The EDF group is a leading energy player, active in all major electricity businesses in Europe. Working closely with industrial groups, laboratories and scientific teams, EDF R&D has recently proven that high-performance simulation provides extremely valuable support to scientific research.

For this project, Barco designed and implemented a collaborative, 24 million pixel MegaCADWall at the EDF labs at Clamart, France, that brings all the research data to life. It is mainly used to analyze simulations of extreme nuclear engineering situations. Thanks to this new way of working, EDF R&D can speed up analysis, decision-making and collaboration.
