The Brussels-based Planetarium of the Royal Observatory of Belgium, with roots going back to 1935, is one of Europe’s largest planetariums. It takes visitors on an astounding virtual trip through the universe. Its secret for drawing the visitors fully into the experience: eight cutting-edge Barco SIM 7Q LcOS projectors.

The projectors were integrated seamlessly with the existing equipment. Anne-Lize Kochuyt, Communication Manager at the Planetarium, comments: "The set-up, with the Zeiss in the middle of the room, was very challenging, but Barco pulled it off. All this was done very professionally and within the deadlines. We can now develop the most fascinating educational programs, thereby boosting our educational and scientific mission. Currently, we welcome around 30,000 visitors per year. We hope to raise that number in the future by offering even more captivating shows and opening our doors to other events like concerts or seminars. Barco has certainly propelled the Planetarium into the 21st century.”
