Today should have been just another ordinary Friday morning at work, thinking about my plans for the weekend, when things took an interesting but exciting twist out of the blue.
Today should have been just another ordinary Friday morning at work, thinking about my plans for the weekend, when things took an interesting but exciting twist out of the blue.
Being used to receiving all sorts of requests and queries for help via my website (www.madcornishprojectionist.co.uk), I came across a video message from Wim Buyens, who works for Barco. What made this email all the more interesting was that it included an invitation to visit the Barco offices in Belgium and to take part in a special assignment.

It was all very secret agent like, but somehow Wim had discovered that I was a projectionist with a wide ranging experience of projector brands and equipment, along with knowledge of the industry and theatres.
My quest - which I’ve accepted - is to find the “secrets of 4K Digital Cinema”! This mission is after all a unique opportunity to find out for myself the truth about one of the hottest topics in the cinema exhibition industry currently.
So for the next two weeks, I’ll be discovering what 4K means both to the cinema companies and the film loving public.
If you would like to find out how I am getting on with my quest and what I have discovered, follow my blog online at www.the4kdiaries.com.
And so the quest has begun.
