Every year, several hundred of the nation’s top Draft-eligible college football players undergo an intensive evaluation at the annual National Football League (NFL) Scouting Combine, also known as the National Invitational Camp, in Indianapolis, Indiana, USA. The purpose: to assess players’ potential for playing professional football for one of 32 NFL teams in the U.S. This year, Barco provided several dozen of its industry-leading medical imaging displays for use by radiologists and team medical staffs to evaluate athletes’ health.

The purpose: to assess players’ potential for playing professional football for one of 32 NFL teams in the U.S. This year, Barco provided several dozen of its industry-leading medical imaging displays for use by radiologists and team medical staffs to evaluate athletes’ health.

Because medical examinations are the Combine’s number one priority top-notch imaging equipment is a must. Barco provided several Coronis Fusion 6MP DL wide-screen color display systems, Coronis 2MP color displays, and MDRC-2120 clinical review displays MRI, CT, ultrasounds, nuclear imaging studies and cardiac evaluations to help assess players’ physical condition. Test results are aggregated into detailed reports that create a multi-faceted portrait of the athlete’s health status and capabilities, which team owners, executives and coaches then use to rank players in their final preparation for the NFL Draft.
