Today, Barco introduces its LED backlit main display for Air Traffic Control at ATC Global 2011 in Amsterdam. With the new ISIS display, Barco offers the first green main display for ATC controller working positions.
With more than 9,000 displays operational - out of 12,000 in the field worldwide - Barco's ISIS main display for ATC controller working positions has become the world's leading ATC display. The latest version of the ISIS 2K x 2K LCD display is the first in the industry to use replaceable LED backlights instead of traditional CCFL lamps.
Low power, high brightness
As a result, the new ISIS reduces power consumption by 20% without sacrificing brightness or detail. Boasting a peak brightness of over 300 cd/m², the latest model offers high user comfort in any lighting condition and counteracts eye fatigue.
Low maintenance, highly redundant
The use of LED backlights also helps reduce maintenance costs, as the LED light sources have a lifetime of 100,000 hours. That's about twice the lifetime of traditional lamps. Equipped with four backlight trays, comprising three LED drivers each, the display offers sufficient critical components to guarantee worry-free operation.
