Rise of the Guardians opens today, showcasing Barco Auro 11.1

The holiday movie season officially kicks-off today with the premiere of Rise of the Guardians, DreamWorks Animation’s first animated feature utilizing Barco’s Auro 11.1 3D sound format to deliver amazing cinema sound for a truly immersive experience. According to Michael White, reporter for Bloomberg Businessweek, “Studios and technology companies are developing new sound systems to draw consumers into theaters rather than watch movies on television and small devices.”

(DWA), maker of the “Madagascar” films, is banking on it, having agreed to make its next 15 animated movies using Barco’s Auro 11.1.
