With 2014 almost upon us, the mania about the upcoming World Cup Tournament in Brazil is reaching fever pitch. Especially after last Friday’s Final Draw, the tournament suddenly seems very real. More than knowing who will play against who, and where, we also know now what the official World Cup Ball will look like, as Adidas revealed its design during a spectacular launch party on 3 December last. 12 Barco FLM HD-20 projectors brought the ‘Brazuca’ to life during a massive projection mapping in Rio de Janeiro’s Parque Lage.

Adidas has been creating/making the special 'FIFA tournament balls' since 1970. For the launch of the 2014 World Cup ball, they didn’t want anything less than a spectacular party, including an impressive 3D projection onto the historic mansion of Parque Lage. While Hill and Knolton and Immersive developed the visual narrative and took care of the design and project management, Play Projeções delivered the technology to project: 12 Barco FLM HD-20 projectors.
The party attracted Brazil’s most renowned celebrities as well as international football stars like Cafu, Hernane and Clarence Seedorf. Besides Brazil’s ESPN, FOX and GLOBO, it was broadcast live by 47 other TV stations worldwide.
