A stunning MiSTRIP wave puts Flemish TV stars in the spots

Who was best actress in Flanders (Belgium) in 2012? What was the best drama series? What was the best reality show? Over 900,000 people found out during ‘The Night of the Flemish Television Stars’ - an entertaining award show, which was broadcast live on television last Saturday. Barco partner XL Video opted for Barco's MiSTRIP creative pixel strips to help create an innovative and dynamic lighting décor for the central stage.

 

XL Video has been a trusted video partner of the Flemish Television Academy, the organizers of the ‘Night of the Flemish Television Stars’, since the first show, six years ago. For this year’s event, XL Video recommended using Barco’s MiSTRIP pixel strips to make the original stage setting, designed by lighting experts Michiel Milbou and Pièce montée, come to life. The stage was encircled by a wave of high-brightness MiSTRIPs that created impressive, dynamic light effects when the winners in the fifteen different categories were announced and went up on stage.

“For one night a year, all Flemish television industry creatives come together in one place. It’s the perfect moment for Barco and XL Video to make a lasting visual impression,” said XL Video.

Interesting footnote: the set of the ‘Night of the Flemish Television Stars’ is in the running for a prestigious PromaxBDA Europe award - the Oscars of TV design - in the Best Set Design category. The winners will be announced during a ceremony in Paris on 12 March.
