In its Palmanova headquarters, the Friuli Venezia Giulia Civil Protection continuously monitors the regional territory, trains volunteers, and analyzes data. A range of Barco solutions supports staff in performing those tasks to their best ability.

A Barco OL-721 and NSL-5521 video wall offer operators a real-time overview of the region. A Transform N video wall controller, a CMS software suite, and 36 dZine DISplayer³ eco media players ensure information is easily shared among the team, which enhances collaboration. 16 RLM-W6 projectors reproduce environmental crises simulations on a 360° set-up of 8 screens. Together, the installed Barco systems facilitate effective collaboration and fast reactivity, thus helping the Civil Protection in Palmanova succeed in its mission to reduce the impact of natural and other extraordinary disasters.
Proudly presenting the new center
24 June marked the official opening of Friuli Venezia Giulia’s upgraded Civil Protection center. The event was attended by Franco Gabrielli, head of the National Civil Protection, and Debora Serracchiani, governor of Friuli Venezia Giulia. The governor praised the new infrastructure as “a hi-tech crisis center sure to improve coordination and collaboration”.
