Barco LiveDots is breathing big sighs of relief: the team has just successfully completed Europe’s biggest indoor high-resolution LED display. Catching the eye les Quatre Temps in Paris, the largest shopping center in Europe, the 250m2 curved display features 1,527 C7 LED tiles in total. The set-up was complex and the requirements were strict. Yet the LED video wall was inaugurated last night, right on time, barely four months after owner Unibail-Rodamco had issued the tender.
The digital dream
How can shopping mall developers, faced with the competition of e-commerce, lure customers to physical stores? Unibail-Rodamco, Europe’s leading commercial property group, is working hard to enhance the customer experience in all of its shopping centers. Part of that strategy is its ‘digital dream’: the commitment to install striking LED displays at its malls, throughout Europe, to enliven the shopping experience as well as gain advertising income. Barco LiveDots was chosen to set up the ‘trial’ LED display at the les Quatre Temps mall in Paris.
Complex set-up, little time
Unibail-Rodamco selected Barco LiveDots’ LED solution because of the professional approach of LiveDots, its countless references, the superior products and the Barco brand. We didn’t disappoint them. For over a month, Barco technicians worked hard – at night, to avoid disturbing the shoppers – to install the curved display, which extends vertically over three floors. On top of that they set up a tall, rectangular screen in front of the elevator, comprising 360 C7 tiles, that helps change the face of the shopping mall.
