Bringing the magic of cinema closer to student youngsters in Brazil

As a digital cinema leader, Barco is also happy to spread its expertise and experience to contribute to a better world. In Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, for example, we joined forces with Arcos Digital Filmes, an organization aimed at bringing culture and education closer to Brazilians. One of their most successful, much awarded, initiatives is the ‘5 Views Technical Formation in Audiovisual’: a free six-month course that immerses youngsters from local communities into the world of projection, thus giving them job opportunities in the cinema market.

For all three past editions (2007-2008, 2010-2011 and 2013-2014), Arcos Digital Filmes managed to get some of the best artists and technicians of national cinema on board to cooperate as professional teachers. Just like in 2011, Barco also supported the 2013 edition (August 2013 thru’ to February 2014) by providing classes about digital cinema projection and supplying digital cinema equipment and technology.

The ‘5 Views’ project clearly bears fruit: statistics show that many of the students who completed the courses found jobs at exhibitor groups and audiovisual solutions companies. Barco is proud to support this great initiative, thus bringing the ‘magic of cinema’ and, consequently, a brighter future, to these young people.
