Barco and Excelfore demonstrate new Ethernet AVB solution at InfoComm

In a move to drive greater interoperability and accelerate development for today’s audio-video bridging applications, Barco and technology partner Excelfore have teamed up to develop an AVB software stack for use with Barco’s video walls. This open-platform solution is expected to fuel faster adoption of this cost-effective connectivity technology and foster greater standardization in the industry.

Highlights of the Ethernet-AVB offering
Key highlights of the Barco-Excelfore solution include the following 

  • Compliant with the IEEE Ethernet AVB stack specification
  • Validated using AVnu approved AVB Switches
  • Gstreamer Media Framework Integration
  • Software APIs for multimedia application development
  • Flexible S/W Methodology for easy porting to all Silicon Platforms
  • Listener, Talker Components for Ethernet Infotainment Endpoints

Licensable software available to drive faster adoption
Excelfore is offering the AVB software stack as an open platform at reasonable licensing terms.  The open platform consists of the production-ready software stack for multiple silicon hardware platforms.  The offering can also be integrated with Excelfore’s Cloud Appstore platform.

Barco’s demonstration of the AVB software stack for video wall displays, incorporating Excelfore’s Ethernet Audio-Video bridging (AVB) technology, will be publicly showcased for the first time at InfoComm, Avnu Alliance booth # C11350, from 18 to 20 June 2014 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
