TechViz and Barco unveil breakthrough in immersive VR technology at SIGGRAPH 2014

Professionals, academics and enthusiasts from the worlds of animation, visual effects, augmented and virtual reality, etc. have all been gathering in Vancouver, Canada, since Sunday for SIGGRAPH – the leading conference on computer graphics and interactive technologies. Among the many exciting innovations on show is the immersive visualization solution that results from the partnership between TechViz and Barco.

Breakthrough technology
TechViz, a software editor headquartered in Paris, France, provides advanced visualization solutions for 3D applications. Its TechViz XL software package allows the display of 3D models directly from a native desktop application on a stereo 3D display. Thanks to the partnership with Barco, that software suite will now function with Barco’s new F50 - panorama, WUXGA and full HD - projector in a three-sided CAVE. The result is a breakthrough in immersive VR technology, as users will now be able to work with any 3D application software without data conversion in Barco’s innovative VR system.

The unique technology will be unveiled live at SIGGRAPH 2014. Drop by booth 1017 to interact with it in real time!
