Five top tips for overcoming presentation tech issues

Vanson Bourne and Barco ClickShare conducted a survey of 1,250 IT decision makers to understand the challenges facing IT department across US, France, Germany, and the UK, and how new technology can help resolve these issues.

The most reported IT problem was around presentation technology, with over 5 in 10 respondents claiming that these issues were associated with a loss of business (54 per cent) and damage to business reputation (53 per cent).

Issues with presentation technology are a serious problem for businesses, with 5 in 10 respondents reporting that these issues were associated to a loss of business (54 per cent) and damage to business reputation (53 per cent). In addition to this, two-thirds claim that presentation technology issues caused important meetings to be postponed (72 per cent), and disputes between colleagues (73 per cent).

Barco ClickShare has compiled 5 top tips on how organisations can overcome IT presentation issues. The tips have been taken from the advice of IT decision makers around the world identifying the type of technology employees should be using to ensure a disruption-free meeting:
Removing the need for training can save time, money, and increase productivity. 48 per cent of respondents believe that presentations will run smoother if technology works with the touch of a button. Meetings can actually be more efficient when you start on time, with a simple click.
Quick and easy

62 per cent of respondents believe that tech which is quick and easy to install is the key to avoiding unnecessary complications while presenting. No time is lost on training or installation and the follow-up needed by the IT department is significantly lower.
Wireless

54 per cent of IT decision makers believe that wireless technology will ensure a seamless experience. No more hassle with cables means a stress-free meeting.

Make it compatible

51 per cent of respondents believe that ensuring that technology which is compatible with any device will prevent presentation problems. BYOD is no longer a burden in meeting rooms: it’s the way forward.

Push of a button

39 per cent of respondents said that technology which is portable will keep presentations running smoothly . Meetings are no longer confined to a single well-equipped meeting space, you can have the same level of productivity and technology in a small huddle room or a large boardroom.
