BARCO signs first contracts with a total value of euro 7.3 million for ILite

Kuurne, April 24, 2001. Barco Projection Systems announces that its business unit Daylight Display Systems, has signed the first orders for ILite, the new indoor LED video wall. The contracts have a total value of USD 7.3 million. Rental companies ict from Germany and ETF from Belgium have placed their first orders shortly after the introduction of this new product. ict (Innovative Communication Technologies AG) was the first customer to place an order, while ETF Event Engineering has placed the biggest order ever for BARCO’s Daylight Display Systems. Both rental companies were also the first to invest in BARCO’s DLite LED wall two years ago.
Whereas the DLite LED wall is the perfect solution for very bright large screen visualization outdoor, the ILite is designed especially for indoor use. It guarantees very bright images and extremely wide viewing angles. The high resolution allows for a smooth picture quality, even for audience standing as close as 3 meters to the display. The ILite is particularly suitable for shopping malls, entertainment centers, transport terminals, tradeshow events, and large venues. In short: The ILite Series delivers the extreme image quality of the video cube and plasma displays without their shortcomings.
“When BARCO developed its first LED-based daylight display system back in 1999, we made the decision to purchase the DLite 7 for both rental events and fixed installations,” said Georg Roessler of ict. “This solution provided our clients with the best and brightest picture. When we decided to expand our product fleet with LED video walls for indoor applications, we could not find another LED product on the market that compares to the BARCO ILite, as for performance, flexibility and user-friendliness. Our decision was easy.”
Ecran-Total-Fréquence (ETF) specializes in event engineering for fairs, conventions, shows and glittering events. This company, with headquarters in Brussels (Belgium), has set up a European network in recent years with local partners in France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Spain, the Netherlands and the UK.
