Antoon De Proft appointed as a member of the board of Barco nv

Mr De Proft graduated with a master degree in Electrical Engineering and a postgraduate degree in Medical Engineering in 1982. He soon moved to Silicon Valley and built out an international career, during which he worked close to 20 years for ICOS Vision Systems, active in image processing and semiconductor inspection equipment. During his tenure as President & CEO of ICOS Vision Systems Corporation, the company was listed on Euronext and Nasdaq. Mr De Proft successfully grew the company and expanded its activities, till the company was acquired by KLA-Tencor in 2008. In between two positions at ICOS, Mr De Proft founded his own consultancy company, ADP Vision, providing management consultancy for mostly technology oriented SME's. His activities were particularly directed towards increasing the growth pace of the companies and towards penetrating new markets.

Mr De Proft currently serves on several boards of directors, including as Chairman of IMEC, Europe's largest independent research center in nano-electronics and nano-technology, with more than 1800 researchers, coming to IMEC from around the world.
