Barcelona International Convention Center chooses Barco for Microsoft’s TechEd conferences

The Barcelona International Convention Centre (CCIB) is one of the largest convention centres in Europe, capable of accommodating 15,000 delegates in an architecturally innovative space facing onto Barcelona coastline. Last July, the CCIB received the prize for technological innovation at the International Association of Congress Centres (AIPC) innovation Awards.

For projection in the conference rooms, 6 Barco CLM HD8 and 8 CLM R10+ projectors have been installed in the venue. The CLM HD8 and the CLM R10+ are both compact DLP technology projectors with 8,000 and 10,000 lumen respectively, delivering a brilliant, sharp and consistent image - even after years of use - without time consuming and expensive maintenance. Their compact size, light weight and low noise levels make the CLM digital projectors the ideal solution for both small and midsize venues. For the main auditorium two large venue, ultra silent, compact 18K lumens projectors FLM HD18 have been chosen. Its exceptional brightness and near silent operation makes the Barco FLM HD18 perfect for special occasions where quality and high brightness cannot be compromised. The specific FLM HD18 projectors for this event where provided by Barco rental partner CT London.

The new projectors have been installed in close collaboration with the staff of the CCIB, and were first used at Microsoft’s TechEd Developers and TechEd IT Forum conferences, Microsoft’s premier Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) technical training conferences with over 9000 visitors, spread over two weeks (from 5 to 16 November)
