BARCO Awarded 1.4 Million USD Contract by Lockheed Martin for PVS and PCI Graphics Boards
WASHINGTON, D.C. - BarcoView has been selected by Lockheed Martin Air Traffic Management as a subcontractor to assist in providing the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) with an integrated, modernized solution controlling oceanic air traffic under the Advanced Technologies and Oceanic Procedures (ATOP) program. BarcoView will supply Lockheed Martin with high-performance Commercial-Off-the-Shelf (COTS) PCI graphics controllers, the PVS5600M and PCI1632, which are important components for allowing air traffic controllers to visually monitor aviation travel.
The Barco PVS5600M and PCI1632 graphics boards have been chosen by Lockheed Martin for their high-resolution, drawing-intensive, software applications. The PVS5600M board is a single-slot, high-performance PCI with a display resolution of up to 2048 x 2048 and 32MB of video memory. The architecture of the PVS5600M provides the capability to maintain up to three independent 8-bit planes: overlay, underlay and super overlay. The visual capabilities of the PCI1632 graphics board support resolutions from 1280 x 1024 to 1920 x 1200. 32MB of memory provides for high-performance acceleration of graphics primitives.BarcoView has been selected by Lockheed Martin as a subcontractor for the ATOP program since BarcoView can meet Lockheed's critical lead-time of less than three months. BarcoView was awarded the contract in August of 2001 and Lockheed Martin received all deliverables at the end of October 2001.
