BARCO DLite 7 Displays Help to Make Bryan Adams' European Tour into a Big Success

Show Presentation Services (SPS) to Provide Overwhelming Video Images

Show Presentation Services (SPS), leading European live event staging company, has selected BARCO's DLite Series to display high brightness images during the European Summer Concert Tour of Bryan Adams. Throughout July 2000, two portrait walls of BARCO's DLite 7 daylight display solution, measuring 11 sqm each, made the Tour into a very successful event for thousands of fans. With its high brightness, its superb picture quality, and its easy setup, the DLite 7 is the product-of-choice for large screen staging events.
For more than 20 years, Bryan Adams has dominated the charts all over the world with four (4) Number One singles in the US charts and a record for the longest running Number One single in the British music history with "(Everything I do) I do it for you". Bryan Adams' latest European Tour kicked off July 13th in Vechta, Germany to visit nine (9) cities in Austria and Luxembourg in just eleven (11) days. It wrapped July 23th in Wiesbaden, Germany.
For this Concert Tour, Bryan Adams and his production manager Roy Lamb selected SPS to supply two LED-screens to display overwhelming live images from camera. Responsible for staging a wide variety of events on behalf of a diverse customer base, SPS from Brentford, West London, is one of the largest audio-visual companies in the UK. For this challenging application, SPS installed two portrait walls of BARCO's DLite 7 daylight display solution, measuring 2.7 by 4.1 meter, which were situated stage left and right, next to the PA towers.

BARCO's DLite 7 features an impressive light output of 5,000 uniform NIT and extremely wide viewing angles. The Dual Pixel Technology offers a visual resolution of 7mm, allowing for a smoother picture, shorter viewing distance and great performance. BARCO has included proprietary technologies to deliver perfect video and graphics performance over the entire display regardless of size, shape or resolution. The modular concept of the system guarantees an easy maintenance of the modules from the back and the front of the display. The built-in intelligence further enables auto-configuration and allows hot swapping of tiles without interrupting the display of the pictures.

"Based on the feedback of some most demanding long standing customers, BARCO has developed the special rental structure," said Julien Blanchez, Marketing Manager for BARCO's Daylight Display Systems Business Unit. "This solution provides a 100 % seamless display, that is easy to build, to breakdown and to ship. This makes it ideal for extremely demanding staging applications, such as Bryan Adams' Summer Concert Tour.
