Barco introduces external desktop multi-windowing system
Stereo and mono high-resolution multi-windowing revolutionizes functionality of collaborative display walls
As a world’s first, Barco introduces its external desktop multi-windowing system (XDS-1000) at EAGE 2006, taking place in Vienna from 12 till 15 June. Through the familiar Windows XP interface of the external desktop system, team members can easily display multiple mono and stereo sources in sizeable, high-resolution windows on a seamless screen. Bringing together all relevant information on one large screen allows for more efficient collaboration and facilitates accurate decision-making at all levels.
Barco’s XDS-1000 is an intuitive tool, empowering multi-windowing on seamless large display walls, allowing users to share knowledge and access up-to-date information. High-resolution content from the company network or from diverse external sources can be displayed in multiple stereo and mono windows and freely positioned and scaled over the entire display area. Several locations can be visually linked for efficient multi-site collaboration.
Thanks to the use of the familiar intuitive Windows XP interface the display is easy to use by all team members, offering direct access to all sources. Users can manage the display and master all operational functions with a simple mouse click, without the need for a special operator. Barco’s XDS-1000 external desktop system is a further development of Barco’s scalable desktop solution giving collaborative large-screen displays the same ease-of-use as already offered by Barco’s IQ PRO, ID PRO and ICON network-centric displays, resulting in a similar feel and ease-of-use between all networked meeting rooms.
