Barco Introduces iSurveillance Display Solution with Integrated Streaming Video Decoding at ASIS 2003

Barco’s iSurveillance solution is the first solution to provide integrated visualization of the total security system, as well as address the industry's migration from analog to digital streaming video
Atlanta, GA – September 15, 2003 – Barco is pleased to announce the introduction of its iSurveillance Integrated Display Solution at ASIS (American Society for Industrial Security) on September 15, 2003. Barco’s iSurveillance solution provides the Security and Surveillance community with an integrated visualization platform that can serve both legacy analog and digital video networks, as well as facilitating its transition. Barco will exhibit at the show, held in New Orleans, LA from September 15 – 18, in booth number 655.

The iSurveillance Integrated Streaming Video Display Solution may be used in all operational control centers, including large Collaborative Environments and Individual Workstations, to integrate the display of information from various different sources and formats. Barco’s iSurveillance is designed to provide a real-time collaborative work experience for monitoring, response dispatching/coordination, access/flow control, recording and overall systems control for 24/7 operations. The solution enhances all operation centers because it provides a large overview display that facilitates collaborative actions across multiple operators. It typically replaces monitor wall stacks to provide a virtual monitor wall that changes layouts and formats depending on alarms and situation requirements. The solution also allows the users to mix and match display types such as real time video (analog or digital), as well as computer graphics (i.e. RGB monitor outputs) in a scalable manner. This provides maximum flexibility to utilize the display area for present and future surveillance applications.

In addition, the display controller is designed with a high bandwidth backplane chassis architecture, allowing the controller to serve as a universal decoding platform, capable of accepting both analog and digital video inputs cards. This is particularly beneficial on the digital solution as it integrates the digital decoder unit into the display controller in order to save both physical space and equipment costs. This architectural design allows the user to expand the solution’s displays and/or input decoding as necessary. The combination of the flexible display and universal decoding platform provides the user with a truly integrated display solution that is unique in its flexibility, cost, performance, and scalability. The solution also allows the user to easily define the position and size of any image or computer output to be viewed, to overlay different views to provide context and switch between a variety of inputs. The system also allows text insertion, alarms and border control.
