Barco introduces universal enterprise collaboration platform for meeting rooms and auditoriums
Las Vegas, United States, 9 June 2010 – Barco, a preferred partner in professional visualization, is proud to demonstrate a new enterprise collaboration platform at InfoComm. It comes with less cost and risk, in return for more flexibility and compatibility. This new system is compatible with any type of third-party flat panels, projectors and display systems.
Barco's new collaboration box, the XDS-100, is part of its extensive range of collaboration products. It enables quick and efficient decision-making in the meeting room by allowing users to display, drag and resize several sources on-screen simultaneously. These sources can be connected physically or pulled from the network, and even include other desktop computers. Because XDS works in a Windows interface, there is no need to learn new user protocols, and all operations happen with mouse and keyboard.
For many years, Barco's XDS range has been a proven concept in the world of virtual reality and oil and gas, where having rapid access to all relevant data across the globe, and comparative analysis is of primordial importance. “However, we find that not just the biggest companies benefit from this technology. Collaborating in real-time with everything on screen at the same time, instead of switching and performing unnecessary busywork to get your equipment to work, is a huge time-saver,” says Yoav Nir, Market Director for Barco.

Apart from multi-windowing in a Windows environment, Barco's XDS makes it possible to take control of remote desktops, save and recall screen layouts and quickly exchange data over the display while in the meeting. It is supported by Barco's XDS Control Center software, which also takes care of information encryption and security matters.
