BARCO's commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) PVS 5600D product line is designed to support the BARCO ISIS 2048 x 2048 AMLCD flat panel display with digital video interface.
The digital video inter-connect from the PVS controller to the ISIS panel provides the best video clarity and the elimination of analog circuitry on both the controller and the ISIS display for lower system cost.

The new PVS 5600D series, support up to three simultaneous hardware cursors, which offer multiple input device capability and also supports three independent 8-bit color planes: overlay, underlay and super overlay and offers up to 32Mb of memory. EIAVI can be utilized with third party radar scan converters, including BARCO's PCI-based RX1000 and RX2000 radar scan converters.

The PVS 5600D series is supported with X11R6 software for UNIX systems drivers for Windows NT 4.0. The X-windows X11R6 software of the PVS series provides the capability to record and playback displayed air traffic and air defense information in real-time, which can be utilized for ATC system safety by providing immediate event analysis and to also support operational training.

Workstations supported are Sun UltraSPARC, HP Class B, C, and J, IBM PowerPC, Intel PC and DEC Alpha/COMPAQ stations. Supported operating systems include Sun Solaris, HP-UX, DEC/COMPAQ UNIX and Windows NT on the Pentium PC.
