BARCO Premieres ACTEV HMI Toolbox for BARCO VECTOR® End-User Software Development and Customization

LONDON, UK - At this year's DSEi exhibition BarcoView launches ACTEV, an easy-to-use software development and customization tool that allows users to implement their desired functionality into the BARCO VECTOR® display system. With ACTEV, integrators can generate customized software applications, fully tailored to the clients' needs, while avoiding time-consuming code programming.
The user-friendliness and unlimited possibilities of the ActEv HMI Toolbox allow for swift customer development of the HMI software, saving a lot of non-recurring engineering cost in the long term. For the design of the Graphical User Inter, ActEv provides a predefined library of graphics, bitmaps and fonts. The software also allows defining the function buttons, the touch screen and communication protocols with connected sensors and computers. To facilitate the HMI design, the developed projects, screen layouts, menu structures and symbols can be stored in libraries and can easily be reused in new projects.Designing the user inter is done on a stand-alone PC, which makes it possible to simulate all designed screens and programmed actions before finally downloading the application into the BARCO VECTOR® display system.ActEv will be available from the first quarter of 2002 onwards, with the beta-release on show at DSEi. A Multi-Head version of the ActEv HMI Toolbox will be available in the second quarter of next year.
