Barco Premieres new PVS6600 Series of 2Kx2K Graphics Generators at ATC Maastricht

Consumer graphics cards lack performance and support for use in real-time, life-critical applications like Air Traffic Control that require a substantial amount of pixmap, label and track manipulations. Barco’s PVS6600 series offers state-of-the-art PCI graphics adapters designed for applications requiring high-performance drawing with high-resolution video output.The PVS6600 family provides two independent video outputs. One output produces RGB video with resolutions up to 2048x2048 on a combined analog/digital DVI-I connector (compatible with both the Barco ISIS digital and analog flat panel and analog Sony DDM CRT displays). The second video output provides analog video supporting display resolutions from 1280x1024 to 1920x1200. The two independent outputs allow for a single card to support both the main and auxiliary displays, whereas the digital output offers the opportunity to upgrade from analog CRT displays to digital solutions (like the ISIS flat panel display) without the need for upgrading the graphics adapter.The PVS6600 runs on all major Unix platforms. The Barco X11R6 server provides unique recording and playback capabilities used by Tellar, the turnkey standalone software solution that saves and reproduces multiple operator display content for further analysis.Major system integrators have already opted for Barco’s PVS graphics controllers for their traffic management applications. They are used in operational sites and training facilities all over the world, including the SENASA simulation center in Madrid, several Spanish En-Route centers, the Bremen Area Control Center, NEWSIM in Langen, the US ATOP program and EUROCONTROL Maastricht.
