Barco Projectors Selected for SAP UK Headquarters

SAP is the world’s largest inter-enterprise software company and the world’s third largest independent software supplier. SAP’s UK headquarters are located in the Bedfont Lakes building. This three-storey, 101,000 sq. ft. architecturally imposing building features 10 ‘executive’ meeting rooms on the third floor, six self-contained ground floor rooms and two further ground floor presentation facilities that can be combined to provide a 140-seat theater.

MA Consultancy is responsible for the appearance and intelligence within all rooms of the SAP headquarters. This company with an in-house team of engineers and installers has combined its knowledge of audio-visual systems with an expertise in heating, air conditioning and building services and a substantial track record in security to meet the requirements of the SAP installation. MA Consultancy selected the BarcoReality 6300 for the presentation of stunning images in the 16 meeting rooms and 2 presentation theaters. The projectors were not only chosen for their high light output, flexible resolution and extreme color accuracy, but mainly for their low heat output, as MA Consultancy and SAP did not want any noisy cooling systems in the building.

Mike Arnold, Managing Director of MA Consultancy, commented: “We believe there is no point in employing specialists and then taking no notice of them and at SAP we have certainly built up a relationship under which they do take notice of our suggestions. Everybody making a presentation in the building uses a laptop computer, but while most may look identical, no two outputs are the same. Neither is the style of presentation, as many users have their own preferred media/resolution so we needed a system that could cope with a large amount of variables. LCD projectors perform well in their native resolution but not with others; some perform better with video than data or vice versa. We therefore needed a flexible high-resolution system but one that did not generate too much heat. We opted for ceiling mounted BarcoReality 6300 projectors, which were specifically produced to meet our specifications.”
