BARCO Selected by EUROCONTROL for New ATC CEATS Research, Development and Simulation Center (CRDS)
MAASTRICHT, THE NETHERLANDS - BARCO has been selected by EUROCONTROL to provide twenty-two high-performance 2K x 2K PCI graphics controllers for the new CEATS (Central European Air Traffic Services) Research, Development and Simulation Centre (CRDS) in Budapest, Hungary. Hewlett Packard (HP) will integrate the powerful BARCO PVS 5600M with their HP C360 workstation driving 2K x 2K high-resolution displays.
The CEATS organization was established to meet the air traffic services requirements of eight states, Austria, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Italy, Slovak Republic and Slovenia.The BARCO PVS 5600M graphics controller was selected for new CRDS center for its record and playback feature and its general technical superiority, and BARCO could provide excellent product support capability. Another important determining factor was that the BARCO controllers had a proven performance reputation at other EUROCONTROL installations including Luxemburg, Maastricht and Brétigny.The BARCO PVS 5600M is a powerful single-slot PCI graphics controller that supports a very large rendering sur with a display resolution of up to 2048 x 2048. The architecture of the PVS 5600M provides support for three independent planes: overlay, underlay and super overlay and offers up to 32Mb of memory. Besides the HP CPU, the PVS 5600M inters to other hosts including Pentium, Sparc and COMPAQ and supports the X-Windows standard X11R6 and NT operating systems. HP has received delivery of all 22 PVS 5600M graphics controllers in October 2000.
