BARCO Selected by Flightcraft for T-33 Avionics Display Upgrade

FARNBOROUGH, UK, 10 September, 1998 -- BARCO Display Systems has been awarded a contract by Kelowna Flightcraft, Ltd., Kelowna, Canada, to supply 40 intelligent 6 x 8 multi-function avionics displays as the primary flight display as part of an avionics upgrade program on the T-33 aircraft being provided for Fuerza Aerea Boliviana (FAB) Boliva. BARCO also has a future option of providing additional units to Flightcraft for several other aircraft programs currently under negotiation.
The BARCO MFD-6.8/1 multi-function cockpit display will be utilized for the presentation of Horizontal Situation Indicator/Attitude Direction Indicator (HSI/ADI) flight information and air data parameters. Flightcraft chose the light-weight and compact BARCO MFD-6.8/1 because it conforms to the critical space constraints in the T-33 cockpit.

The BARCO MFD is equipped with an internal high-end hardware anti-aliased symbology generator, numerous ARINC 429 I/O, synchro, analog and discrete interfaces. The MFD will be Technical Standard Order (TSO) certified for future use on civil platforms. The open architecture of the BARCO MFD display also allows for the installation of Mil-Std-1553 bus interfaces as well as RS-485 serial interfaces and RS-170 video or Stanag 3350.
