BARCO Selected to Supply Vetronics Equipment for Multi Role Armored Vehicle (MRAV) Project

LE BOURGET, 19 June, 2000 -- BARCO Display Systems has been selected by MAK, Kiel, Germany, to become the display supplier for the Multi Role Armored Vehicle (MRAV) program, the largest collaborative armored vehicle program in the history of NATO. BARCO has started the design of a completely dedicated version of its BARCO Vector Flat Panel Display System, to be integrated into the MRAV vehicle's chassis
MAK System, which is part of the European leading armored vehicles manufacturers consortium ARTEC, has chosen BARCO as the supplier for its state-of-the-art Vetronics observation and visualization equipment that will be integrated into the MRAV vehicle's chassis. The BARCO Vector system that will be supplied to MAK System, consists of two 7" display modules DM118, which allow to show video and thermal images on screen. Furthermore, all data retrieved from the ring-redundant CAN-Bus is displayed via the On-Screen Display (OSD) and a powerful Symbol Generator (SG), which creates full graphics overlay and inserts information and essential data from the Vehicle Management System in the observation pictures.
For the design phase of the project, a first series of 24 BARCO Vector Display systems will be delivered in the first quarter of 2001.
