BARCO Signs Multi-Year Medical Purchase Agreement with Cemax-Icon, a Kodak Company
PHILADELPHIA, PA, June 3, 2000 -- BARCO Display Systems and Cemax-Icon, a Kodak Company located in Fremont, California, are pleased to announce the signing of a long-term multi-million dollar contractual agreement for the purchase of a full range of BARCO displays, graphics controllers and calibration software. Cemax-Icon has taken the initiative to standardize on BARCO’s medical display components for all new workstation requirements. Included are BARCO MGD 521 and MGD 221 high-resolution greyscale displays, BarcoMed® 2MP2 and 5MP2 high-performance graphics controllers, and MediCal® consistency and conformity calibration software.
BARCO and Cemax-Icon have had a long-term relationship, through which Cemax has offered the BARCO MGD 521 display and BarcoMed® 2MP2 graphics controller to their PACS customers", said Michael Feinstein, Director of Sales & Marketing for BARCO’s Medical Imaging Systems division. BARCO’s MGD line of 21" high-resolution greyscale displays has been especially designed for critical medical imaging applications, such as PACS and digital radiology, which require superior greyscale image quality. The BarcoMed® 2MP2 and 5MP2 are dual-head PCI-based graphics controllers that feature state-of-the-art technology for the rendering of reliable and accurate images for softcopy diagnosis. BARCO’s MediCal® image conformity and consistency calibration software guarantees perfect image quality within and between displays.
