Barco wins numerous awards for product excellence during InfoComm 2004
Atlanta, GA – June 22, 2004 – Barco is pleased to announce that several of its revolutionary product solutions were recognized during InfoComm 2004. The winning Barco products included the new iCon H600, a network centric, HDTV visualization solution, its popular SLM Series projectors, MiPIX, the cutting-edge and modular intelligent LED pixel block, and the ILite 6 XP, Barco’s 6mm upgraded indoor LED display solution.
A team of editors, writers and readers for Sound & Video Contractor magazine chose the new Barco iCon H600 as one of an elite group of products selected as a “Pick Hit” of the show. Only 15 new products were granted the coveted “Pick Hit of InfoComm” award. Barco’s iCon features a native 1920 x 1080 HDTV resolution and 16:9 wide aspect ratio. The 6,000 ANSI lumen LCD projector, equipped with a powerful integrated display server, was designed to provide the end user with a cost-efficient, reliable, high-quality and user-friendly solution. The iCon’s progressive features create a visual canvas capable of displaying multiple sources on just one screen, making the projector an ideal solution for higher-education classroom environments, museums, corporate boardrooms, and videoconferencing rooms.
Barco’s renowned SLM Series and its revolutionary MIPIX were both recognized during ICIA's AV Communications Excellence Awards Banquet, which was held June 8, 2004 at InfoComm. Over 500 AV professionals attended the sold-out event. The Barco SLM Series projector was selected as the Systems Contractor News Best Video Projection Product and the Barco MIPIX was awarded Rental & Staging Systems Best Video Emissive Display product for the Staging Market (non-Plasma/LCD. The Systems Contractor News Awards, co-sponsored by Systems Contractor News magazine and the International Communications Industries Association, Inc. (ICIA), recognize extraordinary accomplishment in product development in a broad array of staged events, in the corporate staging as well as the entertainment market. Winners of awards for the Best Installation Products were selected via a special reader poll in Systems Contractor News and Rental & Staging Systems.
Barco’s ILite 6 XP, featured in the Barco Live! booth, was awarded Insight Media’s InfoComm “Good Buzz” award. The Good Buzz awards are selected by polling Insight Media staff, analysts, press and conference attendees about products or solutions that were, in their opinion, new and exciting to them, and generated “buzz” during the show. Barco’s new ILite 6 XP is renowned for its absolute image integrity, even when displaying native HD content, and is fast becoming the technology of choice at many high-profile events including international car shows (Detroit & Geneva) and entertainment shows such as the recently held E3.
So far this year, Barco has been awarded the 2004 Entertainment Design Product of the Year Award (January 2004), in the Projection and Staging category, for its MIPIX. In addition, its iPresent, a complete backdrop solution for the broadcast market, was selected for Broadcast Engineering's Pick Hit award at NAB 2004.
