Barco’s Continuous Innovation Garners Five Major CRTA Science and Technology Innovation Awards
Beijing, China, 12 April 2011. Barco, a global leader in digital projection technology, has won five awards at the China Radio and Television Equipment Industrial Association's (CRTA) Science and Technology Innovation Awards ceremony held in the People's Hall, Beijing. The most acclaimed award – the 'Annual Technology Innovation Contribution Award' – went to Barco's DP2K-32B projector, the OVL Series DLP rear projection display wall, and the high-brightness projection display system. This is the second year in a row that Barco has won this award, demonstrating the company's dominance in scientific and technological innovation.
Established by the National Office for Science and Technology Awards, the CRTA Science and Technology Innovation Awards have attracted a great deal of attention since they were launched in 2006. Following the principles of openness, fairness and impartiality, the awards recognize and encourage companies' innovations to promote the development of China's radio and television equipment industry.
Holding the Guinness World Record for 'brightest digital projector', Barco's DP2K-32B supports 32-meter-wide cinema screens, providing audiences with an unrivaled sensory experience. The DP2K-32B has been used at the movie premiere events for 'Tangshan Earthquake', 'Let the Bullets Fly', and 'If You Are the One II'.
In an application for control room display panels, the OVL Series DLP rear projection display wall uses LED light source technology to revolutionize the DLP display structure.
The XD30 with image processing system were the high-brightness projection display system that presented such an exciting and creative visual display for the opening ceremony of the 2010 Guangzhou Asian Games and the opening and closing ceremonies of the Asian Paralympic Games.
