BARCO's Displays Chosen for Russian ATC Project
ATLANTIC CITY, NEW JERSEY, October 24, 2000 -- BarcoView announces at the ATCA 2000 exhibition, that it has strengthened its solid ATC display market position by the signing of a significant contract to provide high-resolution 29" color displays for the Air Traffic Control of Moscow. BARCO will provide 30 Orion 20 color monitors for integration in the Area Control Centre and the Training Centre of the Russian capital.
The BARCO Orion 20 is a multi-sync large screen display offering an addressable resolution of up to 2048 x 1536. The Orion displays have an Ambient Light Control feature, which automatically adapts the display brightness settings to changing light conditions. This dimming capability results in optimal visibility and prevents user eye fatigue. The BARCO Orion high-resolution display also includes a unique orbiting function, which moves the displayed data on the screen periodically, pixel by pixel, to minimize the phosphor burn-in of the CRT, thus increasing the lifetime of the display.
