Barco’s FD 471 display selected by US Naval Air Systems Command
KORTRIJK, BELGIUM / DULUTH, GEORGIA, USA, 9 December 2003 – Barco has been awarded a significant contract by the United States Naval Air Systems Command for the delivery of FD 471 large format carrier air traffic control displays. These 28" high-resolution Active Matrix LCD displays will be installed in Carrier Air Traffic Control Centers (CATCC), as well as in Amphibious Air Traffic Control (AATC) centers.
The Carrier Air Traffic Control Center (CATCC) and Amphibious Air Traffic Control (AATC) centers are responsible for the safe, orderly and expeditious flow of air traffic operating in the vicinity of aircraft carriers and amphibious ships.
The FD 471 is Barco’s 28" high-resolution LCD display for use in military ATC applications and operational decision-making. The ergonomic, light-weight FD 471 features four field-replaceable backlight trays for consistent image quality and reduced life cycle cost. The display's low weight, low power, small volume and high brightness allow integrators a new degree of freedom to reduce costs and improve operator comfort and performance.
