Barco's medical imaging business ISO 13485:2003 certified
KORTRIJK, BELGIUM, 13 February 2006 - Visualization specialist Barco is proud to announce that the company's Medical Imaging Systems division has received ISO 13485:2003 certification for its quality management system. With this certification, Barco demonstrates its commitment to the medical market to deliver imaging solutions that meet the highest standards and perfectly respond to customer needs. The certification applies to the Barco facilities of Kortrijk, Belgium, Beaverton, Oregon, USA and Duluth, Georgia, USA.
ISO 13485:2003 is a quality management standard that is specifically oriented towards the design, development, production, installation and servicing of medical devices and related services. It is based on and supplements the ISO 9001:2000 quality management standard, which Barco already obtained. Barco received the ISO 13485:2003 certification after thorough audits and extensive document reviews.
