Barco's VOXAR 3D VESSELMETRIX module obtains FDA 510(k) clearance
KORTRIJK, BELGIUM, 8 February 2005 – Today, Barco announced it has received 510(k) pre-market clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for its VOXAR 3D vessel analysis software module VESSELMETRIX. The Voxar 3D VESSELMETRIX module offers radiologists a vessel analysis package to effectively evaluate contrast-enhanced Computed Tomography Angiography (CTA) and Magnetic Resonance Angiography (MRA) studies for assessing stenosis, stent and stent graft planning, and stent graft surveillance
The FDA 510(k) clearance comes shortly after the company first previewed the software at the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA). “VESSELMETRIX was very well received by our customers and PACS partners because of its ease-of-use and incredibly fast performance. It allows radiologists to set new standards in quality and efficiency when reading angiographic studies,” said Craig Anderson, General Manager of the VOXAR product group.
