BarcoView Introduces ISIS Fiber Optic Link as Work-in-Progress

MAASTRICHT, THE NETHERLANDS - At this year's ATC Maastricht Exhibition, BarcoView demonstrates, as work-in-progress, the Fiber Optic Link for the ISIS 2K x 2K LCD display family. This world premiere in LCD visualization technology allows for high bandwidth 2K x 2K RGB signal transport up to 300 meter. With the fiber optic link, processing units can be placed in a separate technical room, away from the ISIS LCD main displays in the control room. The Fiber Optic Link allows for better maintenance and enhanced user comfort.
BarcoView's fiber optic link, including four serial communication channels, enables high bandwidth 2K x 2K RGB digital signal transport between the ISIS LCD display and a processing unit. Service technicians, ATC operators and Aviation Authorities benefit from separating the main display from the processing unit. With the fiber optic link, all processing units can be placed together in a technical room, which makes it easier for service technicians to maintain the installed display base. Operators on the other hand have more comfort as they can work in a quiet atmosphere without the disturbing background noise of cooling.Aviation Authorities realize considerable savings as they can reduce the volume of the control room (ATC console can be kept to a minimum) and need less air conditioning.ISIS, the world's first large 2K x 2K, 28" LCD main display for ATC applications, was introduced to the general public at the ATCA show in Atlantic City last October. The 4 megapixel LCD displays of the ISIS family combine performance, low lifecycle cost, user comfort and an open system environment into an innovative visualization architecture.
