Central Fabrics first user of Barco's real-time textiles production monitoring and planning system in China
Barco is pleased to add Hong Kong based Central Fabrics to its customer portfolio. The latest wireless WEAVEMASTER manufacturing execution system from Barco was selected for installation at their state-of-the-art factory in Tsuen Wan.
The WEAVEMASTER system connects all of their Toyota and Picanol weaving machines, each fitted with a user-friendly Barco DU10P wireless data unit.
WEAVEMASTER, now fully supporting the Chinese language, provides Central Fabrics with the tools to monitor productivity of their factory in real-time, and create ad-hoc reports, so that users can respond quickly where necessary.
The user-friendly drag & drop planning tool optimizes both the loading of the weaving machines and warp preparation, and makes the job schedule clear and easy to understand to all parties concerned. This was a key factor in Central Fabrics opting for Barco equipment, as they often have to produce small quantities with short lead-times.
All quality and production information is stored in the relational database of the Barco system, which also communicates with the Central Fabrics SAP administration system to supply information for managing yarn and fabric inventories, payroll and accounting.
With this breakthrough Barco believes that more customers in Hong Kong and mainland China will follow soon in the footsteps of Central Fabrics.
