Two is better than one

In most cases, granting this request would require you to quit your presentation, look for the relevant file while everybody is watching — which can be particularly annoying if you got the file via email—, before actually being able to share the requested data on the meeting-room screen.

"Présence" is 93% of a successful presentation

As mentioned previously, Albert Mehrabian did a lot of research into verbal and nonverbal communication. In a face-to-face situation, words only account for 7% of your credibility, 38% is your tone of voice and 55% is your body language. So, your credibility is for 93% determined by your voice and your body or your "présence". I have to use the French word as I couldn't come up with one word in English that has the same meaning. Présence is all about capturing the space you are in: physically, verbally, and mentally.

Ever heard of the 7%-38%-55% Rule? According to Albert Mehrabian, Professor Emeritus of Psychology at the American UCLA, words only account for 7% of how we interpret a message. Tone of voice (38%) and non-verbal elements (55%) have a much bigger impact on the effectiveness of a dissertation. So, next time you’re working on an important presentation, think about striking the right balance. Instead of stuffing slides with words, consider whether a picture could convey the same message better.

Inspired by the way Gen X and Gen Y meet and work, the hotel ‘re-imagined’ its traditional meeting rooms. Instead of imposing a dictate by room layout or furniture, it created spaces that meet the objectives of its participants.
