At the IDS 2013 trade show in Cologne, Barco introduced its brand-new Eonis dental displays and wowed the audience with its presence across the show floor. Watch the show wrap-up video for an impression.

Barco LiveDots has just delivered the largest LED display in its history and one of the most eco-friendly displays in the world: a 2,650 sqm. display featuring nearly 20 million LEDs in 2,880 TF-20 tiles. The installation, which graces the top of the Absa Tower in Johannesburg, was chosen on account of its reliability, the image quality and LiveDots’ worldwide reputation as a trusted supplier of large-scale LED installations.

It’s been exciting times for Barco’s healthcare team, over the past few months. Besides preparing for HIMMS, ECR and Zorg & ICT, we were also designing a booth concept and deliverables for a trade fair that is brand new on our events calendar: IDS 2013, Europe’s leading dentistry trade fair. The reason for our visit to IDS in Cologne is called Eonis - Barco’s very first medical display designed especially for dental practices.

Designed with clinical specialists in mind, the Eonis displays combine an innovative, built-in front sensor with Barco’s MediCal QAWeb cloud-based tool to ensure superior, controlled image quality. The Eonis 22” model is available in a black and a white version, with the latter offering a fully cleanable front glass panel to prevent infection – a first in the market.

On 30 November 2012, Barco hosted a ‘Cinema of the future seminar’ at its headquarters in Kortrijk. As a digital cinema technology leader, Barco is committed to shape the cinema of the future and the moviegoing experience. Together with several industry partners (Kinepolis, FilmAngel and Small Town Heroes) and research groups (iMinds SMIT, iLab.o, MICT and Multimedia Lab), Barco set up the research project ‘iCinema’ to explore the opportunities for creating an interactive cinema experience via second-screen applications and new media formats. During the seminar, attendees got a preview of how the future cinema experience could look like via several interactive demos.

“ClickShare is the Real Deal” is seizing the airwaves at rAVe Radio, presented as a recent podcast by rAVe publisher Gary Kayye who lauds the benefits of Barco’s meeting room One Click Wonder. In Episode 10 of the “Rants and Raves” show, Kayye praises ClickShare’s ability to quickly project images and data from a either a PC or MAC laptop to a large screen in just one second.

Barco exceeded original production estimates to produce more than 1,800 KDU flight displays to meet Honeywell’s demand for displays integrated into its Primus Apex™ flight deck targeted to the business aviation industry. The display solution is specifically designed for integration into the Honeywell Primus Apex™ flight deck and is installed aboard the Pilatus PC-12, the Harbin Y12, and Viking Twin Otter aircraft.

At the European Congress of Pathology (ECP) held this year in Prague, Barco pathology displays were highly visible across the show floor with one in every second exhibitor booth choosing to use Barco pathology displays.

Located in a new, state-of-the-art 260,000m2 building, the Spanish La Fe hospital (Valencia) aims to become the largest European health center. To support its healthcare leadership, it resolutely chooses the best technology available on the market. Its diagnostic and clinical review displays are labeled Barco: the hospital uses 59 Coronis Fusion and 20 MDRC-2120 display systems.

The new TL-358 is the latest member of Barco’s TL family and has been designed for use in the space-constrained areas of navy ships, unmanned aerial systems, and shelters.
