Helping the ‘In Flanders Fields’ Museum retell the story of the Great War

Frenchman Camille Terrasse, German Otto Sonnenberg and Brit William Rhodes are just three of the 424 people who fell on 28 November 1914, today exactly 100 years ago, during the First World War. The names of all 424 casualties who died that day are projected onto a wall in the much-visited In Flanders Fields Museum (IFFM) in Ypres, using two Barco F22 projectors. In total, Since its refurbishment in 2012, twelve Barco projectors help the IFFM to fully immerse visitors into the story of the Great War.

We are happy to welcome a new member to our RLM family of three-chip DLP projectors today! The brand-new RLM-W14 offers Active Stereo 3D, WUXGA (1,920 x 1,200 resolution), and a brightness level of 14,500 center lumens. It's our first three-chip DLP projector that’s equipped with HDBaseT technology to provide video over a single Cat 5 cable. The RLM-W14 is designed for fixed installation in small- to medium-sized venues; but its rugged chassis, extended warping and blending functionalities, and optional rental frame make it equally suited for the rental and staging market as well.

Barco helped Russian art works come to life at Moscow Manege Museum

From 14 April to 26 May, thousands of art fans had the chance to see works of art by Russia’s influential avant-garde movement at the Moscow Manege Museum. The brains behind the unique ‘The Golden Age of Russian Avant-Garde’ exposition were the famous film director Peter Greenaway and his wife, director Saskia Boddeke. The projectors that powered their 5,000m2 multimedia installation? 12 ultra-bright Barco HDX-W20 projectors!

InAVation Award for Turkish museum powered by Barco

Remember how we enthusiastically announced the InAVation Awards for ClickShare and our business projector, at last month’s ISE trade show? Well, that was not all. The Çanakkale Memory Museum in the Gallipoli National Park, Turkey, won the InAVation Visitor Attraction Award. Its link with Barco? Our products, of course. In September last, Siemens proudly inaugurated one of its most prestigious projects ever: ‘The Crystal’. The world's first center dedicated to improving knowledge of urban sustainability, 'The Crystal' illustrates how the latest infrastructure technology can make the world’s cities better places to live and work. As behooves a high-tech building, 'The Crystal' features quite some Barco gear. So Barco took Installation Magazine on a visit to the landmark building in London’s Royal Victoria Docks.
