From 23 to 25 April last, Kino 2013 attracted exhibitors, distributors and service providers from across Europe to Baden-Baden, Germany, for a three-day immersion into the world of cinema anno 2013. While Barco’s digital cinema solutions were showcased at partner booths, Marc Aarts, Barco’s sales director DC Western Europe, and Wilfried van Baelen, CEO Galaxy Studios, participated in well-attended panel discussions. “Our participation was most interesting,” Marc Aarts concluded.

In April, Barco partnered with Rockwell Automation for the Automation University event in Paris and the Value Forum event in Dubai. These events consisted of a wide range of seminars, presentations and hands-on workshops on the latest developments in automation and information technology. Barco was present on the show floor at both events.

From 11 to 14 March, Barco held its very first International Partner Meeting. Connect! 2013 took place on the island of Malta and saw global partners for both Barco and projectiondesign gathered for a few days of interactive workshops.

Just recently, we wrote that Barco distributor COMM-TEC will extend the distribution of ClickShare to Southern and Eastern Europe. Last Thursday, Imago Group plc announced it will make our one-click meeting room presentation system available to its UK channel of specialist resellers from this month onwards, after successful sales in France since mid-2012.

Barco has recently extended its contract with European AV distributor COMM-TEC. Starting from March, COMM-TEC will be distributing Barco’s ClickShare presentation system in Italy, Spain, Portugal, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Hungary, Bulgaria and Romania. COMM-TEC is a trusted Barco distributor of projection and other visualization systems, including the ClickShare meeting room presentation system.

In line with its new partnership strategy, Barco has recently closed a strategic partnership agreement with the French company Immersion. A European expert in immersive and collaborative 3D innovative technologies, Immersion is the first European partner in the VR field to join Barco’s partner network.

Barco partner Avitec highlighted its enthusiasm for Barco’s projection products during the recent ProShow exhibition in Istanbul (14 – 17 March). Its hyper-impressive booth featured no fewer than ten of our latest, high-brightness projectors and several image processing controllers to catch the eye of Turkey’s rental and staging community.

Barco is holding its very first International Partner Meeting on the island of Malta as we speak. With Connect! 2013, Barco seeks to enhance relations with its business partners and share new product innovations and strategies for the coming year. The Berlin International Film Festival (Berlinale) marked the official opening of its 2013 edition with a glamorous gala yesterday evening. For the past ten years, Barco has been guiding the film festival into the digital age with an ever-growing number of Barco digital cinema projectors.
