When the German city of Frankfurt am Main moved its Traffic Control to a new building, the operators embraced an entirely new way of working: they now have an overview of the traffic flows on a 14m2 wide Barco video wall, composed of 21 LED-lit cubes.

Barco’s medical display designed for reading digital mammography and breast tomosynthesis exams took centre stage at the 42nd São Paulo Radiological Meeting (JPR), from 3 to 6 May last.

Barco Healthcare is receiving unprecedented demand to support educational hands-on training for digital mammography and breast tomosynthesis on a global scale, including in new regions such as Brazil and Mexico. During 2011, Barco Healthcare supported a total of 26 educational workshops and 2,500 radiologists in over 20 countries incl. the United States, China, Taiwan, United Kingdom, Germany, France, Italy and Finland.

When the Tomas Bata Regional Hospital in Zlín (Czech Republic) moved to PACS, the classic medical display solutions no longer fitted the bill. Living up to its reputation as a high-quality care provider, the hospital opted for “the best brand on the market.” Barco met and exceeded the expectations, paving the way for additional installations and a long-term partnership.

Leveraging the power of its newest large venue projectors, Barco created a visual spectacular worthy of the Las Vegas strip, thanks to the creative efforts of event production partners DWP Live and Monster Media 3D.

Hundreds of CinemaCon attendees captured a glimpse of the Cinema of the Future at Barco’s Laser Projection Showcase held at the annual movie exhibitors’ convention held in Las Vegas this week. Case in point, amazingly brilliant 4K footage of the documentary Samsara demonstrated just what 55,000 lumens of brightness can do for movie image quality on a giant, 70-foot screen.
