With Barco Auro 11.1, you're "in the movie"!

ROTG Testimonial on Auro 11.1
The eagerly anticipated premiere of DreamWorks Animation’s “Rise of the Guardians” delivered a special treat for patrons of the Pacific Theatre at The Grove in Hollywood last month. The venue was one of the first in North America to show the movie mixed in Barco Auro 11.1, astonishing audiences with true-to-life, immersive cinema sound. “The sound was really incredible. Barco Auro 11.1 shined when you heard the voice of Pitch, or the Boogeyman, from every corner of the theater as he melds into the shadows. It was one of the best ways to show how immersive this system is as it serves the story so well, which is the most important thing,” said Sound Designer Greg Fonda.

Barco Auro 11.1 improves the “communal experience"

DWA Auro Alliance Banner
Last month’s press conference announcing the alliance between DreamWorks Animation and Barco generated a flurry of excitement among movie industry journalists about the potential of 3D cinema audio. “Auro 11.1 is a new way to mix audio for films which should create an immersive 3D sound experience for people sitting in a theater...It's fascinating audio tech, and hopefully gains more of a foothold with this DreamWorks deal. Increasingly, the home theater is able to compete with most of what a movie theater can offer, so I'm always happy to see improvements to the communal experience, especially when it results in an experience I can't replicate in my living room.”
