This year’s Security Essen tradeshow takes place from 25 till 28 September. A range of Barco products will be on show during this international security and fire prevention exhibition.

Mercator Digital, a prestigious exhibit to commemorate the 500th birthday of cartographer Gerardus Mercator, recently closed its doors, after six successful months. Barco and its partner Maverick ICS were proud sponsors of the events. The Barco RLM-W6 projectors delivered such crystal-clear images that they will now move permanently to the existing Mercator Museum.

Kino Expo 2012, taking place in St. Petersburg, Russia, takes off today. Barco is present at this cinema industry exhibition through its many partners.

At the European Congress of Pathology (ECP) held this year in Prague, Barco pathology displays were highly visible across the show floor with one in every second exhibitor booth choosing to use Barco pathology displays.

Barco teamed up with broadcast and event producer SennovA to create the visual centerpiece for the 2012 Ultra Music Festival, the world’s premiere electronic music festival in Miami, Florida. The partners delivered a stunning 3D projection mapping display, entitled “Red Bull Mind Meld,” using Barco’s FLM-HD20 and FLM R22+ DLP projectors to cover 29 floors of the Intercontinental Miami Hotel exterior with bold, animated imagery for three nights during the festival.

With the Olympics just finished, the 2016 Olympics and the 2014 World Cup, both in Rio, are still some years away. Yet already Brazil’s capital is investing tens of billions of dollars to make Rio ready for the big events. A world-class public transportation system is one of the many requirements. When SuperVia, the operator of Rio de Janeiro’s rail service, decided to upgrade the infrastructure of its Operational Control Center (CCO), it immediately contacted Barco.

From 29 August thru’ to last Saturday, 8 September, the Italian city of Venice welcomed the world’s film industry professionals, film addicts and movie stars for the 69th Venice International Film Festival. During 11 days, over sixty feature films were shown on five screens. To ensure an exceptional film experience, Barco partner Cinemeccanica installed ten Barco digital cinema projectors.

Today, 11 September, is party time at Cinemark Brazil, as the country’s largest cinema chain celebrates its 15th anniversary with a prestigious happening in São Paulo. The London 2012 edition of the Paralympic Games - the Olympics for athletes with a visual or motorial disability - came to an end yesterday. Barco is excited about how the Belgian delegation performed during this international sports event.
