Barco added a new member to its MXRT line of ultra-fast and high-performance display controllers. The MXRT-5450 board is equipped with two Dual-link DVI connectors and the latest AMD FirePro™ professional graphics. This means the board can be used to enhance existing display systems with new visualization and performance technologies.

rAVe Publications has honored Barco with an award for “Best New Outdoor LED” for the company’s X-Series NX-4 LED display.  The new NX-4 seamlessly mixes 2D and 3D simultaneously with the press of a button - without losing resolution or brightness. 

 It all ends… Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II had its Brazilian premiere in a true postcard style environment. This premiere marked the end of one of the most profitable film franchises and to celebrate this, Warner Bros chose the enchanting Morro da Urca as location for this long-awaited event. Morro da Urca is a small hill in the Urca neighborhood in Rio de Janeiro and can only be reached by cable car. Its Amphitheater is known as a famous event location and can host up to 700 guests.

The 17^th edition of the Sarajevo film festival takes place from 22 to 30 July in Sarajevo, Bosnia Herzegovina. It is the premier film festival in the Balkans and is one of the largest in Europe. Every year, the festival attracts about 100,000 movie fans and industry professionals. XDC, Europe’s leading digital cinema service company and Barco, a pioneer in digital cinema projection technology, have joined forces to provide the Sarajevo film festival the best technologies for their digital 2D and 3D screenings.

Julien Fournié is a famous French fashion designer. On 5 July, he presented his fall-winter 2011-2012 collection in Paris. Longtime Barco partner Dassault Systèmes sponsored the event through its Fashion Lab and contributed to the video content shown during on the runway. It was Dassault Systèmes who advised the designer to work with Barco’s indoor LED technology to give maximum impact to the video content. AV technology partner Utram supplied and installed the Barco ILite 6XP indoor LED tiles.

Barco is bringing to life an immersive, giant-screen movie experience for thousands of patrons at the New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science, providing two of its brightest projectors to create the world's first commercial dual stack Enhanced 4K projection system. 

One of Philadelphia's busiest street corners now features a Barco C11 LED signage cube, advertising the Kimmel Center's performing arts programs and events to thousands of patrons and visitors to the city center.  Debuted in April to promote the Philadelphia International Festival of the Arts (PIFA)'s outstanding slate of music, dance and theatrical shows during April, the display now features the Center's thrills roster of events, live concert feeds, visitor information and more. 

New to the West End, Shrek The Musical brings the hugely loved characters of Donkey, Princess Fiona, the evil Lord Farquaad and Shrek himself to life, in a spectacular new London production based on the story and characters from the Oscar-winning DreamWorks films. An all-singing, all-dancing, fairy story brought to the stage, Shrek The Musical reveals to the audience, whatever their age, an irresistible melting pot of a magic, mystical world where dragons meet talking gingerbread men amidst the land of three little pigs and the big bad wolf.

Sacramento, CA-based movie director Matt Thompson, in association with Oasis Motion Pictures, used Barco’s DP2K-20C digital cinema projector to premiere his new movie “Bloodline last week,” impressing a crowd of more than 800 attendees during a red-carpet private screening at Folsom Lake College (the home of Barco’s NA Digital Cinema division).
